Sometimes working out sucks, but you know what sucks even more? Being Fat.
I have tried 4:45am workouts in the past. As recent as this August/September I had developed a relatively consistent morning routine of swimming, running, or yoga. And then, the ball dropped. And the thing is, it’s kind of hard to talk yourself into picking the ball back up if you hated carrying it in the first place.
I’m glad to say that this time, it feels different. I’ve designed my own program around the right amount of calories at the right time along with an exercise routine I enjoy and look forward to. I’ll definitely get into the details of both of those soon.
As with everything in life, whenever you are trying to accomplish any kind of goal, it’s important to have fun. Without the element of having a great time, you almost certainly will fail. I’ve made it a habit to goof off, laugh, put on fun music, and act a FOOL when working out. It doesn’t seem to take the effectiveness away as much as it adds to the length and enjoyable quality of the workout overall. Taking yourself too seriously hardly ever pays off.
